What to Expect at the Meeting

Our gathering is designed to be interactive and engaging. Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Show & Tell

Bring your favorite gem or rock to share with the group. Whether it’s a dazzling crystal, a rare mineral, or a simple stone with a story, this is your moment to shine and learn from others’ collections.

  • Raffle Fun

We encourage members to donate rocks or gems for the raffle. This is a great way to contribute and maybe take home a new treasure. Please note, the club will not provide raffle specimens this time, so your donations are especially appreciated.

  • Warm Atmosphere

Despite the cold outside, the library offers a cozy space to connect, chat, and enjoy the shared passion for geology and gemology.

How to Find Terry Library

Getting to the meeting is straightforward. Here’s a quick guide:

  • From I-430, take the Rodney Parham Road exit.

  • Head west on Rodney Parham Road.

  • Turn right onto Napa Valley Drive.

  • The library will be on your left at 2015 Napa Valley Drive.

  • Parking is available on-site, so you won’t have to worry about finding a spot.

This location is easy to reach and offers a comfortable setting for our event.

Embracing the Winter Weather

Arkansas winters can be unpredictable. This week’s freezing temperatures might make you want to stay indoors, but remember, this cold snap is temporary. In just a couple of weeks, those 70-degree days will return. Until then, use this as your excuse to wear your warmest coat and enjoy the charm of a chilly evening gathering.

The cold weather adds a special touch to the night. Imagine holding a sparkling gem in your hand while the wind blows outside, making the warmth inside feel even more inviting. It’s a perfect setting to appreciate the natural beauty of rocks and gems.

Why Join the Rock and Gem Club Meeting?

If you’re passionate about geology, minerals, or simply curious about the natural world, this meeting offers several benefits:

  • Learn from Others

Members bring a wide variety of specimens and knowledge. You can discover new types of gems, hear stories behind unique rocks, and pick up tips on collecting and caring for your own collection.

  • Build Connections

Meet people who share your interests. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced collector, the club is a welcoming place to make friends and expand your network.

  • Enjoy a Relaxed Evening

The event is informal and friendly. You can participate as much or as little as you like, making it a stress-free way to spend your Tuesday evening.

Tips for a Great Meeting Experience

To make the most of the evening, consider these suggestions:

  • Bring a Specimen to Share

Even a small rock or gem can spark interesting conversations. Prepare a short story or fact about your item to share.

  • Dress Warmly

The weather outside is cold, so layer up. The library is heated, but it’s better to be comfortable on your way there and back.

  • Consider Donating to the Raffle

If you have extra specimens, donating them helps keep the raffle exciting and supports the club’s activities.

  • Arrive Early

Getting there a few minutes before 6:00 PM allows you to settle in and chat before the meeting officially starts.

Looking Forward to a Sparkling Night

This meeting promises to be a highlight of the week for rock and gem lovers. The combination of a cozy venue, interesting specimens, and friendly faces creates a welcoming atmosphere that makes the cold outside fade away.

Whether you come to show off your collection, win a raffle prize, or simply enjoy the company, you’ll leave with new knowledge and perhaps a new treasure in hand.

We look forward to seeing you at Terry Library this Tuesday at 6:00 PM. Bring your favorite rock, your warmest coat, and your enthusiasm for all things geological. Together, we’ll make this chilly evening a sparkling success.
