Visit to Tom
Sharp's Home Tom had invited me to his home to see his mineral collection at our first meeting, but something always seem to come up. Well, I finally made it over, and it was a fascinating experience. I asked Tom if I could bring a friend, and he graciously agreed. Tom has many unique specimens that one is not likely to see in a lifetime. Tom has been collecting fifty five years, since he was six years old, and still has many of those early collected items. He has an exceptional eye for the unique and has collected hundreds of museum quality specimens. The pictures on this page are a very small sampling of his collection and do not do the collection justice. The pictures should whet everyone's curiosity, and if you are lucky enough to get an invite to his home, be sure to take him up on it. Photos and text: George Sterpka |
